Our hiking adventures are unforgettable. Fourteen days in the wilderness, together with two to four participants and your guide. On hiking days you’ll be hiking with your backpack for four to seven hours. Through valleys and streams. A good physical condition is a must.

The hiking adventures are all about enjoying nature. We spend the night in tents or under a tarp and in some places we’ll have a log cabin. We awaken to the call of the loon on the lake and do what feels right on the days of rest.

Spot Canadian wildlife, climb a mountain, paddle in a Canadian canoe over a crystal clear lake, go swimming, fishing or help with daily activities such as logging, building a campfire and cooking. And enjoy the absolute silence in the evening beside an open campfire.

Your guides

For our guides Rick and Bert going on these adventurous journeys is not work, but it’s a lifestyle. A belief. Waking up in a landscape where silence prevails, where you wash yourself in a stone-cold creek, where every day is a new adventure – that, for them, is what makes them feel alive. In the immeasurable, vast remote wilderness of Western Canada, not only do they live here in the summer, they’re also here throughout the winter. With our experienced guides you feel at ease among moose, bears and wolves.

Our Team

Rick Solmonson manages Claw Mountain Outfitters and is the guide for all horseback trips. In 2010 he started Claw Mountain Outfitters.

Tim has been flying for Claw Mountain Outfitters from the start.
